Free After School Program at First United Methodist Church, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, 1201 Main Street. Mondays include guitar lessons from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with guitars provided, and art lessons from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with art supplies provided. Wednesdays, they have dance from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and children’s choir from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The First United Methodist Church provides a Christian-based after school program that is free to the public. Children will come to the Fellowship Hall and begin with a prayer and a snack and drink. Walk on the Wild Side! McKinney Roughs , 10 am–noon, free, adults and children ages 8 and up.
Enjoy an interpretive hike as a park naturalist brings together a unique blend of human and
natural history to tell the story of the Colorado River and how the river influences animal, plant
and human life along its banks. Each monthly walk will focus on a different aspect of the river’s
story. Geology, botany, native and early people, wildlife and river history are just some
examples. After your hike, visit McKinney Roughs’ exhibit hall. Bring a picnic lunch, and make
a day out of it. Walk of the Wild Side T-shirts are available in our gift shop.
Pre-registration is required. Hike limited to the first 20 participants. Clubs or groups of more

Acorn Eaters – Nature Club for Kids! McKinney Roughs, 10 am–2 pm, $15 per child or 3 classes for $35, ages 7─10.

the Internet better than she can sight a hawk overhead? This nature club will help your child
connect to the natural world and learn about native people through wilderness adventures,
games and exploration. Kids will experience the outdoors and discover outdoor skills while
learning to work collaboratively with other children. A different topic is covered each month.

Second Saturday monthly beginning in April Pine Street Market Days are scheduled on the second Saturday of the month from April through December from 9am-5 pm in Downtown Historic Bastrop at Main and Pine Streets.
