City of Bastrop Certified Police Officers The City of Bastrop is a rapidly growing community 20 miles east of Austin, Texas with a census population of 7,000 and a daytime service population of approximately 20,000. We are seeking professional police officers who are committed and dedicated to public service, possess a willingness and compassion to work together with the citizens of Bastrop to maintain a healthy and safe community. Minimum Qualifications for Certified Officer: ■ U.S Citizen ■ Must have attended a Police Academy in Texas and be TCLEOSE Certified or be certified and licensed in Texas by hire date. Additional Requirements include: Valid drivers license with good driving record. Good moral character, stable employment record with no history of any conduct, which may effect suitability for law enforcement work. Pass each step of the application process, which includes oral interview board, thorough background investigation, physical, drug screen and physiological evaluation.
